Closing issue for now as it's doable, but I suspect we'll need some UI reworking to make this more obvious and maybe set a minimum partial payment amount. Keep in mind this is club-wide since orders may contain multiple leagues / competitions / products / fees.

A new issue can be opened for these specifics if / when it is necessary. Let's see where this takes us.

Partial payments have now been implemented but in a sort of adhoc way. If a user submits an order (offline / without payment), the thank you page will contain a link to the order that was just submitted (and they can access it from their orders screen at any time). If they go to that order screen, at the bottom is an "Add Payment" button, just like administrators have. They can click that to pay the pay online for the order (if the club supports online payments). Clubs now have an option to accept partial online payments from their users located in the club settings. Checking this box (it defaults to false) will allow curlers to choose an arbitrary amount when submitting these online payments. If this box is not checked (default), then the curlers doesn't get to specify their amount as only the full amount owing can be paid.

Allow customers the option to pay what they choose. Most likely to be used for a donation to a cause, team fundraiser, etc.

This request has turned into two separate but related requests. One for adhoc discretional payments (like a donation), and one for partial payments (paying only part of an order). 
Bobby Ray Adhoc discretional payments are supports by our new payment processor, SportsPay, so that part is solved, but requires switching / onboarding payment processors (easy for clubs to do right from within Curling I/O).
I'm going to rework this original issue to now address partial payments.

Many of our members pay 50% at the start of the season and 50% at the midseason break. Those members MUST pay in the club both times. It isn't too bad at the mid season as they tend to break themselves up over time...but since they can't do the initial payment online the first night of league play is overwhelmed with people paying at the bar. To be able to pay a portion at the start of the season would be GREAT

Cornwall Curling: You can do this now using a custom field discount (Half Season 50% off) to ask if they are only paying half the season. Just make sure the league isn't set to season (so it can be purchased more than once), and you'll need to follow up with them mid-season to make sure they repurchase the remaining 50%.

Dave Rapin  Yeah, but we don't want people to have to register twice a year for the same thing - I'm talking making a partial payment via the online system without having to re-register at mid-season for the same league. 
Like we currently do manually at the club.
We have enough issues with people registering once, don't want to add another layer of registration

Can a custom field criteria be used to add a fee at registration time? For example, if I use a pull down to select the amount of the donation, can the registration now include the fee that matches the criteria? Similar to applying a discount based on custom field match.
