New Calendar Functionaity
in progress
Dave Rapin
We've launched a new calendar, which include venue / rental bookings, closures, internal reservations, game schedules, etc.
We'll be releasing a tutorial video soon. In the meantime we'd love any feedback you have.
We want to keep this as simple as possible (already a bit complex), but will consider additional features if they minimally impact overall complexity for other clubs.

I was playing around with the program this morning. Excited about the progress! I wasn't able to find a way to set bookable times for different days (we have open ice Monday and Friday afternoons but leagues in the afternoon Tuesday - Thursday) I was wondering if this is an option, if I'd have to go through each day and block it off manually, or if the program would know that if there is a league schedule during those times on a day that it won't be bookable?
We found a program last year that worked really well and had a lot of functionality. I'd like to move to Curling I/O, but I have to get our scheduling and calendar pretty well set by the end of this month. Do you have an eta on the info docs? - if not all good, might be a next year project for me to switch :)
Thanks for all your work! The program is coming along really well!!

Sutherland Curling Club You can change the booking times on a per venue basis. So you can say that Sheet 1 is only available in the afternoon. You can also create recurring closures to block off specific times on a daily / weekly / monthly / yearly basis (and also create one-off closures as necessary).

Sutherland Curling Club And yes, if you are creating draw schedules for your leagues, those times will show up as booked (and will name the game and link to it).

Dave Rapin Ok right on! Thanks for the speedy replies :) I'll do some more playing around haha.

Sutherland Curling Club No problem. Play around with it some more and if you like you can book a quick overview session with me. I'd love to get some clubs using it this season so we can collect informed feedback.

Miscellaneous Event Scheduling
Dave Rapin
Allow clubs to create misc events in an IO hosted calendar, basically replacing the need for them to set up their own Google (or other third party) calendar.
This should be compatible with future ice / venue rental / booking features.

Practice ice to add to schedule

I would like to see an option to create practice ice sessions, where members and non members can register via CurlingIO and would then display on the schedule page of the website, along with leagues and bonspiels. We currently use a parallel schedule with Google calendar to manage all of these in order to inform the ice makers.

The bowling industry have a few app providers that have solved this problem. They have leagues that they block lanes for. They have busy times they charge more for. They allow clients to book multiple lanes with multiple players and age groups.

Hey Curling I/O Crew - any updates on the ice booking? We used google appointments this season but were having troubles with googles use of timezones. Would love to be able to have something in Curling I/O that both members and non-members could book from.
Dave Rapin
Sutherland Curling Club: We have big plans for this. It's not a small undertaking, but we should be able to get started on it soon. We've been evaluating what's out there and the generic options all feel pretty bad.

TSA Curling Club has set up a booking system on a wordpress site using the easy appointments plugin. This plugin has a lot of features, including those listed below. You can check it out at tsaplays.ca. It can link to woocommerce to enable payments. We have not implemented this capability.

Steve Copeland: Thanks Steve, I'll take a look.
