Have you considered Google Workspace for NonProfits (a club's nonprofit society needs to validate themselves with TechSoup.ca as a nonprofit organization then apply to Google for Google Workspace for Nonprofits free license.) It has a Mail Merge feature that is limited to 2,000 recipients per 24 hour period. Very easy to use once you build an appropriate Contacts list in Google Workspace. With that said, Curling I/O already has the Profiles that it can use for a similar bulk mailing feature.

There's so many email marketing products, but I'm considering adding a "MailerLite" integration as it seems affordable. Thoughts?

Dave Rapin MailerLite would work fine for us - we only broadcast to prompt registrations (i.e. shortly before a league/event start date), so a few times a season. We would, though, need to filter out folks who have "opted-out" in the past, or are no longer affiliated (e.g. re-located, retired from curling, etc). We use the "seasonal curlers comparison" report as the starting point.

We're planning to offer a mass mailing option within Curling I/O as a premium feature. I've always though Mailchimp is more complicated than most clubs require (and their terminology is really confusing).
While awaiting that, if you hit the Mailchimp limit, you should be able to manually export curler lists (by purchase) and import them into other email marketing platforms like Contant Contact etc. However I'm not sure if there's a free option that's comparable to Mailchimp's.

I was coming to ask this question as well!
