I think the way we'd want to do this is to go into the new competition, click a button to
import teams
from another competition, search / find that competition, and then check off a checkbox next to each team you want to import.This would copy the teams over (but not the registrations) and then you could work with them and modify them same as if you created them manually.
Does that sound about right?

Dave Rapin: Yes, that sounds right. It certainly would simplify things and decrease the current workload for those who create the "next level" competition where teams advance to, not register for. That way we could also change players if need be (ie. someone gets replaced).

leslie.kerr@curlnoca.ca: It also potentially solves at least some of the issues around competitor cards. If a team is advanced instead of having to register for the next event we can still enforce competitor cards for those who do need to register (didn't participate in an earlier event). You'd still need to allow individual competitor card purchases though for substitutes who didn't already pay for one in a previous event.
I would like to get a consensus on this between the MAs though. For example, is it reasonable for CurlManitoba to advance teams this way instead of having them register for the next event? Are there no additional costs for teams that advance? Is this a rule we can make across the board for all provinces?

I vote for this ... we have an electronic system that creates more manual work than is required. If a team plays in one level of the competition we should be able to move them thru the system without a ton of manual work.
