Assemble a team either by profile, or by manual override.

In order to add players to teams, it requires that a profile be assigned to the competition. If we are running a social event, and inviting non-curlers, the current set up does not allow manual input of players onto a team. There should be an option to assemble a team either by profile, or by manual override.

Possibly I am misunderstanding the ask, but for a league or competition there is a Profiles tab where you can assign curler profiles that did not register for the event. They'd have to have registered and accepted the waiver at some point though.

I have done what you suggested many times. However, if I’m organizing a social community bonspiel with most of the participants being non members, it doesn’t make sense that they need to register a profile for just this event. We have them sign waivers at the door upon arrival which covers that aspect. Since I cannot override and type in the names to create a team (since they don’t have a CurlingIO profile), I can create the schedule and draw sheet on CurlingIO with a team, but I am unable to list the players of those teams so that they can view the event remotely. I should be able to type in players that are not registered in CurlingIO.

K R: OK I understand now. because this touches on a lot of code (like shot by shot), there's some non-trivial risk in implementing it. We can take a look, but it's probably an off-season type change if it's feasible.
However, it might actually be easier to just add another freeform (lineup) field for teams that allows you to enter a comma delimited list of players since none of these actually tie into anything...
