Add Programs Tab

Thoughts on adding a “Programs” tab in addition to “Leagues”, “Competitions”, and “Products”?
A dedicated space for Junior programs, Learn to Curl programs, and other instructional programs that are geared towards new or non-members. Would help clean up “Leagues” area for actual leagues only.

Non-Competition Event Category?
Kirsten Engel
Wondering if there is a way to add an additional custom category specifically for event registrations that are for things like our "Try Curling" nights (or even league wrap-up dinners, skills clinics etc).
Previously we had our Try It nights listed in the "Products" category with the other misc items that don't fall into the "Leagues" or "Competitions" categories but we had some negative feedback from new people who had also seen our optional $100 "Club Membership" in the same category and incorrectly assumed that we charged $100 just to join the club in addition to the league fees (which is not the case, it is an optional club membership that gives members an additional discount on our pro-shop and future league fees etc.)
Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to add a schedule of a program, our junior program, wheelchair curling and golden age programs don't work well in this category currently as there is no recurring schedule, but they're also are not leagues so they don't need the "games". For example our golden age is drop-in based from 1pm-3pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Genevieve Andrea: We're not going to add league draw schedules to these as they are meant to be much lighter. However, I think the ability to set a recurrence might be a good idea, similar to how you can create reservations and closures on the calendar.

Bobby Ray This hasn't gained mu attention, but how would you feel if we joined this with a Volunteer type product (https://curling.canny.io/clubs/p/volunteer-tab). So basically these are just like products, but they have start / end dates and open / close registration dates like leagues, and it gets it's own section. We give clubs the option of calling it Events, Programs, or Volunteers (maybe other options too if we can think of any)? They would also show up in the club's calendar.
Bobby Ray
Dave Rapin that might work. If I was managing a club I could see being interested in both a Volunteer section and a Program section separately.
FYI (inspired by volunteer thread) — I know that many clubs use Sign Up Genius for volunteer event management.
Dave Rapin
Bobby Ray well Sign Up Genius ain't cheap. https://www.signupgenius.com/how-to-use/collect-money "Fees equal 5% of the purchase plus $0.50 per transaction." plus whatever the monthly is.

Dave Rapin I'm wondering if "Programs" still need to have a schedule. If clubs are using this for Youth Program, Adult Learn to Curl, etc. they still need to post a schedule of recurring events. A Youth Program also often blends instruction, league play, and randomness (so they might still want the opportunity the post a game schedule).
Dave Rapin
Bobby Ray I think this just complicates the interface for all of the use cases where they do not have draw schedules. I'd like to keep these simple. If there's a draw schedule, at least for now, it belongs in leagues or competitions. I like that these are basically simplified events. For example, drop in curling that can be purchased for a specific date/time is a good fit. Volunteer events are a good fit. A coaching seminar or a Curling Camp is a good fit.
That being said, I do want to add the start / end / registration dates to the calendar in such a way that they aren't associated with a venue and don't block any time slots.

Will tackle this in the off season so it's not disuptive.

Bobby Ray We're about to tackle this one (I've noticed the cluttering of leagues and products). Please post any new information or insights you have on this that clubs may have passed along.

Dave Rapin Nothing new that I can think of. Attaching a PDF for reference. In general, most experiences before / below "Play" we would consider more of a program than a league. Most new participants nowadays are introduced through a program and are promoted into league play.
Dave Rapin
My recommendation would be to just list these under leagues then, and maybe pinned to the top (position 1). If you uncheck the "Seasonal per curler" then they can be purchased more than once per curler during a season.
