"Paid With" options
complete

Very happy that you made changes last year to add 'Card' as a Paid With option.
Right now we're using the 'Notes' field to enter Visa or MC to assist with monthly reconciliation. You can imagine that we get spelling mistakes (yes, you can spell "MC" incorrectly) and omissions that cause us to have to review, check, correct. Adding Visa, MC, Amex, Debit, and eTransfer to the drop down would help minimize data entry errors.

Of course. Thanks.

Thanks!
Any chance you could add e-transfer as an option?

darrylhorne@shaw.ca It's already an option in the paid with dropdown.

We are adding a "Card Funding" dropdown with "Credit", "Debit", "Prepaid". And a "Card Network" dropdown with "Visa", "Mastercard", "Amex", "Other".

Thanks for following up on this.
(And thanks for adding e-Transfer as a payment type.)
1) I’m not sure what your first point refers to.
a) I see you’ve differentiated Card online/offline as payment types. Not having used online I don’t understand that process. I thought if a user chose to pay online, their payment would be automatically applied in CIO; an administrator would never have to enter a payment ‘Paid With’ Card Online. So, not sure why it’s a payment type for the administrator. ? If it has to be there, adding specific card types (V, MC, Am) to the list might have to be duplicated for online/offline. Not good unless you could create a separate variable for online/offline, or sub-lists or a pop up with card type.
Or, did you mean something else with your first point?
b) With our club’s service provider we get reports back on Visa, MC and Debit.
Amex is another card you could add to the list.
Are you saying Stripe gives you/clubs & associations information back on something different?
Is your concern about back end financial processing already in place at the clubs/associations?
BTW: Searching for credit cards in Canada I’ve only found one that wasn’t Visa, MC or Amex. It was something for people with bad credit… (I didn’t do an extensive search.)
2) Re historical data: I don’t know how CIO users are using historical data. Pretty sure we won’t be looking back at this.
Perhaps an ‘Other Card’ category could be created to collect any anomalous cards that users might accept and be a place where you move historical (pre 2021-22) cards to? ('Card' was added in 2020-21 right? So it's only one year's data?)

Hi Darryl, the issue with changing card offline w/ specific card types is twofold; 1) It doesn't reflect the card online option (what we get back from our payment processer), and 2) Most importantly, we have no way to reconcile historic data. What card would we shoehorn existing "Card Offline" entries into?
