Exclusive Discounts

One concern I have is the complexity of explaining how this needs to work. Let's take your 5,6,7,8 player team discounts for example.
* The 5 player team discount should be exclusive of 6,7,8. This one is straightforward.
* The 6 player team discount should ONLY be exclusive of 7,8 (the more discounted ones), but should NOT be exclusive of 5. Otherwise you end up in a scenario where 5 and 6 negate each other.
* The 7 player team discount should ONLY be exclusive of 8
* The 8 player team discount should not be exclusive of any of the others.
I think managers will intuitively try to make them each exclusive of each other, which could produce strange behaviour. Meaning they would make 8 player team discounts exclusive of 5,6,7. That would be incorrect.
Know what I mean?

Dave Rapin: I do... What about having discounts tied to a dropdown list vs check box? Then only one could be selected.
Cheers!

info@deltathistle.ca: Yes I think this is the route to go, but I have to think about how we would enable clubs to
group
discounts still. This is something we're thinking about, and should have a decent solution for soon-ish (once we knock out some other priority items).Dave Rapin
info@deltathistle.ca: You can now have "Custom Field Matching" discounts which would allow you to create a discount that is based on a value selected in a custom field drop-down. E.g. Apply a 5 person team discount of 20% if the custom field "How many players on your team?" entered value is "5", etc.
There's still a use case for
grouping
discounts that would be exclusive of each other which aren't based on custom fields, so we'll still eventually tackle that.Dave Rapin

Agreed. It would be either a multi-select (hold down control or command to select multiple) or more likely checkboxes.
